Level the Health skill in Tarkov to meet hideout and key quest requirements with this guide to health levelling strategies and maintain steady account progression. Health is part of a unique subset of Tarkov skills that level by improving other skills (strength, endurance and vitality in this case) which gives players multiple methods to optimise the levelling process. Drawing from my extensive Tarkov experience I provide strategies to meet the high health skill quest requirements and streamline the levelling process that are easy to implement once players are aware of them.

As with all physical skills in Escape From Tarkov players should optimise the levelling process by using the FP-100 Filter Absorber in your air filtering unit and familiarise themselves with the levelling speed limits of Tarkov that are described on the EFT wiki.
How To Level Health
Health is one of the few skills in Escape From Tarkov that increases as you earn experience points in other skills. For health this is endurance, strength and vitality which all have easy to execute levelling methods alongside your passive activities from raids that benefit these.
For those looking to focus on health urgently for quest or hideout requirements your best option is to combine the methods to level strength and endurance linked above as these are powerful skills in their own right which makes them worth investing in and are the lower effort of the 3 options.
An often overlooked strategy to levelling health is to take advantage of the Therapist’s, An Apple A Day quest which provides 2 levels of health and should be taken at health level 8 as the required skill points in skill levelling increase at higher levels. Completing this quest is straightforward, requiring players to hand over 400,000 Roubles and will allow players to reach the required level 10 for quests noted below.
Health Requirements (Quest & Hideout)
Health in Tarkov is used for the following:
- Level 2 health is required for players to construct the level 2 medstation in the hideout.
- Level 4 health is required to complete the Therapist’s quest Health Care Privacy – Part 4.
- Level 10 health is required to complete the Therapist’s quest Athlete.
Your overall progression can be stalled if the health skill levels lag behind, especially for the crucial hideout medstation upgrade. For the bulk of players though it will be the quests on their path to the Kappa Secure Container that will mean they need to spend some of their raid time focusing on this skill. Health Care Privacy Part 4 is particularly important as it leads to the quest Private Clinic that gives one of the best Tarkov quest rewards in the THICC item case.
Benefits Of Health Levels
Health provides the following PMC benefits:
- Decreases chance of fractures
- Decreases energy consumption and dehydration rates while in raid
- Damage absorption (Elite)
The health skill provide quality of life to your raid experience with less fractures leading to less healing items and significantly reduces the chances you’ll start limping from a fracture mid fight. The benefits of lower energy consumption and dehydration are also convenient as you’ll be able to raid for longer without worrying about bringing or finding provisions.
The elite health skill benefit of damage absorption is currently not implemented and there has been no documented plans from BattleState Games to introduce this yet.
